This year we finally broke down and bought an artificial tree. We have lived in this home almost 3 years, and each time Christmas had come around, we were either selling our house or thinking about it. Not this year. We are currently good where we are at. Of course with a vaulted ceiling one needs a very tall tree. We went with a 12' tree. The kids also each got to decorate their own little Christmas tree.

The kids decorating their trees

One of their yearly photo ornaments (can you guess who?)

The 4 "kids" trees were knocked over just minutes after being decorated because the kids overloaded them with their special ornaments.

Putting together the tree

Alan wonders why I had to choose purple ornaments. What can I say, I like purple. Next year he is requesting red. Where's the creativity in that?

Those who love purple have class! Next year red AND purple... makes for a very regal looking tree!
We have all red...does that mean I'm boring?
love the purple (we have some purple ornaments too- but just one box and mike always tries to find a way NOT to put them on the tree). i love the kids having their own tree idea.
