Happy 7th Birthday Fox!

Well, I'm feeling a bit older now. My baby turned 7 years old yesterday. I take solace in the fact that he is a momma's boy and occasionally still snuggles (or at least gives hugs) and despite his increasing weight still lets me carry him around.

Alan and I both took a half a day off and took Fox to a place we've happily avoided for all these many years - Chuck E. Cheese. Luckily we got there at about 3:30 and the crowds weren't too bad. But by the time we left it was getting a bit crazy in there. Alan likened the place to a "kiddy casino", and I would have to agree. But, the kids had a good time and I think we can feel better now that we haven't scarred our children for life by denying them entrance to such an overrated place.

We then came home for cake and ice cream. Fox received 2 Indiana Jones lego sets and despite our telling him he could exchange one of them, he quickly ran upstairs and promptly opened both of them. He's definitely into Legos right now. Thanks Grandma and the Hipwells for coming over to help celebrate. It was a bit low key, as we wanted, but I hope fun was had by all.

Happy Birthday Fox!! The girls actually made cards for you, but they are still sitting on my desk to be mailed. Looks like your birthday was fun.

Am I the only parent now that hasn't taken their kids to Chuck E. Cheese??
