So on Sunday we got home from church only to hear our neighbor at the leaf blowing again. Sure he's got a lot of trees, but he was out Saturday night blowing the leaves around too. The sound was starting to drive me nuts on Saturday, but hey, you can't stop him right? But to see him pull the thing back out on Sunday just about sent me into fits.
Here's the kicker - he blew leaves from before 2:00 pm until well after 6:00 pm! Yet, Alan had been over there the day before raking up leaves to use in our garden. It took Alan a good 15 minutes to rake up several garbage cans full.
And yes, we understand leaves. We had a great many large trees (including a dozen full grown pines – arghhh!) at our prior home, but I should let this neighbor fellow in on a secret. Using the lawn mower is the best lazy man's way. It doesn't take too long and you can either choose to bag or not to bag. Either way, you get a good mulch for your garden, or a finely crumbled bag to pour into your garbage can and you don’t spend 6 hours walking in a 20 foot circle polluting the air with noise and driving your neighbor bonkers!
A couple of other things to mention here…The house referred to in this photo is not lived in, so when I refer to my "neighbor", the anonymity of this person should remain confidential because he's just cleaning up the rental property. Also, I usually don't peer out my windows into neighbors’ yards with a supersonic lens camera. And yes, we do use the garbage cans and leaves from the empty houses that we live next to. Let's just say we are just trying to make it "look" like someone lives there.
Anyone want to challenge my worst invention title? Do you know of anything worse?

The best part is the beer in his hand...hahaha...We had an old neighbor who would be out mowing the lawn at like 6:30 in the morning, now that's annoying too. As for the worst invention ever...let me see...the leaf sucking thing, just the opposite of the leaf blower...BTW, thanks for coming tonight, and you are not a dork!
