1. A few weeks ago, I purchased a new printer since mine is on the fritz. After several hours in the store determining which was the better deal Alan and I came home to set it up. And then it hit, we need OS 10.4 or higher to run the printer. I only have OS 10.3. Urgh. We looked at the price of buying OS 10.4 (about $150) and determined it wasn't worth it. We returned the printer.
2. I finally hooked up my iphone to my computer, and recieved the message that my iphone was only compatible with OS 10.4 or higher. Double bummer. But, with 5 computers in the house, you have to bet one of them (Alan's 2, of course) has 10.4 already installed. I decided I would just use his computer to update things, although this was a terrible inconvenience for both of us.
3. After reading my
prior post, Alan decided to install my iLife (includes updates to iphoto, ical, garage band, etc). You know by now what

it requires... OS 10.4 or higher. I think Apple has a conspiracy to make you upgrade EVERYTHING every year or two. All these requirements will now cost me $211 (for the iphone) +$130 (for the new printer)+$150 (for OS 10.5 - aka Leopard)+$73 (for iLife) = $564. Guess I won't be getting that new camera for a while longer. I hope this "Leopard" doesn't continue to run us over or eat us alive.
