We left early Friday morning with the intention of arriving in Hill City (just outside of Mt. Rushmore) at about 6 pm. On our way through Wyoming we made an unintended stop at Martin's Cove. We had a few bumps along the way, and the large trailer (a 5 by 8) slowed us down some, but we arrived at our small little cabin at 7:30 pm and then we headed up to Rushmore. It was beautiful and inspiring. I had been there when I was about the same age as my kids, but they have done quite a bit with the monument since then. Here are a few photos of the first leg of our trip.
