Presentation - No. Yummy - Yes.

It's no secret Alan and I love pie month. But this one took the cake (or is it pie?). Alan decided to stop off at Marie's (yes, we know her so well we only need to call her by her first name now) on the way home from work the other day. Upon arriving home he grabbed his notebook as well as his never to be forgotten iphone and walked into the house as usual. But by the time he arrived at the stairs he had an "oh crap" (no Amy, your kids did not learn that word from our kids) moment. When he had grabbed his stack of items, he neatly had tucked them under his arm. This included the pie. Cream pies just don't do so well being carried on their sides.

Ode To Amy

After last night, Alan and I both agreed that the trip to the E.R. and the ride in the ambulance may well have been worth the time and cost and we are considering doing it all over again. This because our good friend Amy cooked for us.

Amy is fantastic. Period. But her food is, ... well, "spectacular" as Dylan and Alan both put it last night. She made us Mexican chicken, which has most of my family probably saying, "Brenda doesn't like Mexican". They would be right...I normally don't, but I had to even go for seconds because it was so good.

The meal in and of itself would have been terrific, but it was followed up by a homemade peach pie. Wow. To die for. Better than Marie Callendar's. Yummy, yummy, yummy. I MUST have the recipe! Otherwise I may consider doing something extreme to get more.

After a great meal, I told Alan that I will have to hire Amy to do all of our cooking. (If you don't know by now, I don't enjoy cooking). He quickly replied how supportive he would be in this endeavor. Amy . . . let's negotiate, although I know I can't afford such perfection!
